Announcing the newest addition to Silbrico’s family of horticultural products, built on five generations of perlite manufacturing expertise.
Introduction
We are excited to introduce Sil-Ponix Supreme™, the newest addition to Silbrico’s family of horticultural products. Built on five generations of perlite manufacturing expertise held across our Chicago, IL, Easton, PA and newly acquired Portland, OR locations, and a long tradition of serving growers and plant hobbyists throughout the west and beyond, Sil-Ponix Supreme brings a new identity to the trusted horticultural perlite products growers, nurseries, and soil producers have relied on for decades.
While the Sil-Ponix Supreme name and packaging represent an exciting new chapter, the products themselves remain rooted in the same proven formulations and performance standards that helped make our Portland operation an industry leader in the horticulture trade for more than 50 years. By aligning the Supreme and Sil-Ponix brands under a shared horticultural vision, we are creating stronger connections across our product portfolio while honoring the unique heritage and expertise that have made each brand successful.
A New Chapter Rooted in Five Generations of Perlite Craftsmanship
The introduction of Sil-Ponix Supreme marks an important milestone in the ongoing evolution of Silbrico’s horticultural product portfolio. While the branding may be new, the expertise behind it is anything but. Perlite manufacturing is more than a process — it’s a craft that we have refined through generations of experience. For five generations, we have been honing the art and science of expanding perlite, developing a deep understanding of the qualities growers need most: consistency, performance, reliability, and supply continuity. Those values remain at the core of every product bearing the Sil-Ponix Supreme name.
For decades, our Portland operation has manufactured horticultural-grade perlite used by professional growers, plant enthusiasts, nursery suppliers, and soil blenders across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. As part of the Silbrico family, Sil-Ponix Supreme builds upon that legacy while creating stronger alignment across all our horticultural grade offerings.
Over the coming months, customers in the region will begin seeing the Sil-Ponix Supreme brand appear on packaging, marketing materials, and product communications issuing from our Portland plant. Throughout this transition, customers can expect the same commitment to quality, consistency, service, and horticultural performance that has defined our business for generations.
Why Sil-Ponix Supreme™?
A Renewed Commitment to the Horticulture Community
Expanded perlite remains one of the most effective and versatile soil amendments available to the horticulture industry. No other amendment delivers the same combination of consistency, lightweight structure, durability, and performance as expanded perlite.
Sil-Ponix Supreme reflects our commitment to continuing to support the entire horticultural community coast-to-coast through the Sil-Ponix brand name, while acknowledging the legacy of the Supreme grades and sizes on which they are built. For growers, that means continuing to provide consistent high-quality perlite blends that support healthy root development and strong plant performance. For greenhouse and nursery suppliers and distributors, soil producers, and growing media manufacturers, it means delivering the product consistency, supply reliability, and trusted partnership they depend on to support their customers and the industry as a whole.
While the products themselves remain familiar, the new brand identity reflects our renewed focus on horticulture and a platform for continued growth, innovation, and customer support within this important market.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these new products or formulations?
In short, no. While Sil-Ponix Supreme introduces a new brand identity, each grade retains the same name for ease of communication, size recognition, and application transferability within existing channels of distribution and tried-and-true crop production systems.
- What is the relationship between Sil-Ponix Supreme and pre-existing Sil-Ponix products?
Sil-Ponix grade products manufactured at our Hodgkins Illinois location remain distinct from Sil-Ponix Supreme grades manufactured in Portland. Oregon. The Sil-Ponix Supreme grades are simply the newest addition to Silbrico’s horticultural portfolio.

No. Customers of Sil-Ponix grades manufactured in Illinois, and Sil-Ponix Supreme grades produced in Oregon, can expect the same commitment to quality and performance as they have enjoyed in the past and come to expect.
- Will I still see original Supreme branded products during the transition?
